BARHAL KARAHAN PENSION
AT BARHAL, YUSUFELI PROVINCE,

Since 1987, BARHAL KARAHAN PENSION has been serving just next to the historical 'Georgian Church' in Barhal village which is situated in a spectular Kackar National Park, deep in the Pontic Alps of north-east Turkey, inland from the Black Sea region, in Artvin Province and within 100 kilometers of the adjoining country of Georgia.

THE FAMOUS BARHAL CHURCH
AND BARHAL VILLAGE

Within a stone’s
throw of the pension is the famous monastery site of Parhali (Barhal)
In fact all that survives of the monastery today is the church which you can see from the upper terrace, and two hermitage chapels built on the north facing slope of the valley opposite the pension.
